Stained Wood Cabinetry Disclaimer

All wood is a natural material, and variations are inherent in its composition. While each species grows best under certain conditions, factors such as soil composition, climate, and weather patterns influence grain pattern, texture, and color.

The beauty of real wood lies in its uniqueness. This is especially true of hardwoods and hardwood veneers, which often display diverse grain patterns and mineral streaks ranging from light brown to dark brown or black. The amount and appearance of these mineral streaks vary from board to board. As a result, differences may be visible between cabinets, doors, drawers, or even within the same panel. Such variations—including mineral streaks or unusual grain patterns—are considered natural characteristics, not defects, and are not grounds for replacement. No special selection process is performed to ensure matching materials.

Over time, all wood will undergo natural color changes as it ages. This may alter the shade of both the wood and any applied stain. The degree and rate of change depend on multiple factors, including species, stain color, and exposure to direct sunlight. Additional environmental influences—such as smoke, household chemicals, and artificial or natural lighting—may also contribute to variations in color.

While these changes occur gradually and may be imperceptible on a daily basis, they become noticeable over time. Accordingly, cabinetry or accessories purchased and installed at different times may not match existing pieces exactly. Similarly, showroom displays or sample doors may not precisely represent the finished color of delivered products.

For these reasons, Cabinet & Stone City, LLC is not responsible for naturally occurring variations or changes in the appearance of stained wood cabinetry over time.
